Via the motorways A 10 (Berliner Ring), A 12, A 13 and A 113 one can get in all the directions of Europe.

The federal roads, B 96 (Rügen - Berlin - Luckau – Czech Republic), B 179, B 115, B 168, B 246, B 320, and B 87 (Leipzig - Luckau - Lübben - Frankfurt/Oder) complement the motorways.
Railway transportation
From Lübben and Königs Wusterhausen by train you can regularly and fast reach the capital Berlin. There are numerous national and international connections at your disposal. Moreover, the northern part of the district as far as Königs Wusterhausen is integrated into the Berlin’s S-Bahn network.
Harbours and waterways
In Königs Wusterhausen there is the biggest
inner harbour of Brandenburg. Thanks to its good connection to the railway tracks it plays a major role as a future trans-shipment point for supply and disposal of wastes for Berlin. Currently building rubble, building materials and other goods are transhipped there. The transport connection to the harbour from the motorway A 10 will be improved in the coming years.
Air traffic
The airport
Berlin-Schönefeld lies in the district Dahme-Spreewald. With the expansion of the airport "Berlin-Brandenburg International" (BBI) Schönefeld is on the way to become a European centre of air routes. From the airport one can reach by car in less than an hour all business locations inside the district, the most of them in less then 30 minutes.
Local public transport
The district has a dense network of local public transport. The choice of railways aligned along the North-South Axis is complemented by a distinctive and comprehensive bus network. Moreover, the Berlin S-Bahn network extends to Königs Wusterhausen and Schönefeld.
The district is a member of the transport association Berlin Brandenburg (Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg).
