Aerospace industry

The capital region Berlin-Brandenburg gradually emerged as the third centre of aviation and aerospace technologies in Germany. The key aspects of activities include engine development and production, construction of light aircrafts, manufacturing of components and systems as well as service and maintenance. Including the airport there are around 16.000 people working in the aerospace industry in the region.

The attractiveness of the location is determined by the capital airport BBI. However many companies and institutions also make a substantial contribution to these important growth sectors of the capital region Berlin-Brandenburg.
